Pets can travel with you on Savonlinja buses. Harmless pets may travel with you, provided there is room inside the bus, and are the passenger's responsibility. The pet should be kept on board in such a way that they cause minimal disturbance to other passengers. Pets are not allowed to use a seat or be left loose inside the vehicle.
Any allergic passengers already on the bus have the right to choose their preferred seat and can, if necessary, ask the driver not to allow the pet to enter the bus. However, other passengers cannot prevent guide dogs or assistance dogs from entering the bus.
Savonlinja charges a fee of 3 euro per pet. Pets held on the owner's lap may travel for free. You may not reserve a seat when travelling with a pet. There is no extra charge for travelling with a guide dog or assistance dog.
You can also add additional services, like bicycle, for your journey from Linjalla app and webstore. You can take one bicycle on the bus. Altogether up to 2 bicycles can be carried on the bus. Please notice that this additional service must be bought at least day before the trip.
If you buy your ticket from the driver, you can make sure there will be space for your bicycle by contacting our schedule service tel. 020 141 5500 on weekdays between 8:00 AM-4:00 PM.
For a bicycle, we charge a fee of 7,50 € in addition to the price of the ticket.
We do not refund tickets that have already been paid for. If necessary, registered Savonlinja customers can change the date or time on the ticket on our website. Changing a ticket will cost the passenger 7,50 euros service fee. You can make a ticket change by logging in from the top right of the home page and click the "own tickets" button. After each ticket, you have the "change ticket" button which you can press to change the new travel date and time. After that, you can go to the shopping cart with the "change" button. The seat reservation is not valid after the ticket change.
We do not have an age limit for children travelling unattended, and we trust parental judgment in this respect. The driver is not able to attend to children travelling unattended during the journey, and the driver may need to exit the vehicle to handle cargo, for example. It is possible to reserve a seat for a child in the Savonlinja online store or through the Linjalla app. The best place for a child to sit is immediately behind the driver.
We recommend escorting the child to the seat and ensuring that the child is picked up from inside the bus by an adult at the destination. You can print an identification card for the child for the journey using our website.
Enter only your departure point, destination and travel date in the search fields in our online store. You can search for a journey without purchasing a ticket.
We offer discounts for certain age groups via the online store or when buying a ticket from the driver. Please note that the customer must present a card as proof of entitlement when buying a discount ticket. You can find more information about discounts under Travelling/Discounts.
No. You can also buy a ticket from the driver when you board the bus. We kindly ask our customers to bring the correct change for the tickets, if possible. Please avoid using banknotes of 50 euro or more, as the driver has a limited amount of change.
Please note that you will always find the cheapest tickets via our Linjalla mobile app or online store. A ticket bought in advance from the mobile app or online store entitles you to a seat on the bus, so buy a ticket beforehand if possible.
